Term Time Consultation Outcome

Friday 15th December 2023.

Dear Parent/Carer

Changes to the structure of the school year at The Priory Belvoir Academy

We are pleased to be able to confirm that, following approval by the Academy’s Governors and the Priory’s Board of Trustees, we will be going ahead with our proposed changes to the structure of our terms.

As we set out in our letter to you in October, we will be bringing Belvoir’s term structure into line with Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire schools. From September 2024, we will follow the term dates which operate throughout The Priory Federation of Academies Trust, to which we belong and which is informed by the Lincolnshire model.

The new structure will come into place at the start of the next academic year, ie from September 2024 onwards. The dates are set out in the tables overleaf and will be published on our website before Christmas. (There is no change, of course, to the date we break up next summer – Wednesday 10th July 2024).

We are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to comment on our proposals. From a school which has 696 students on roll, we received a total of 74 written responses (which were evenly split in their views). As Headteacher, I met a number of parents one-to-one to discuss our ideas; and I also met a group of Vale primary school Headteachers to help plan for the future.

We now look forward to a new direction for Belvoir and its community, and to the significant benefits it will bring to everyone involved with our academy.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Yours faithfully

Mr L Newton
Headteacher
