Miss Kate Beardmore
Kate was born and brought up in Lincolnshire, the eldest of 4 siblings.
She graduated in Law and qualified as a solicitor in 1994, initially working with her father and grandfather in the family law firm in Grantham.
After spending some time as a partner and Head of Department in a law firm in Newark, she secured employment as a Senior Crown Prosecutor with the CPS East Midlands. This has given her the opportunity to undertake a number of roles including Champion of Hate Crime, trainer in Equality and Diversity, Head of LGBT policy as well as prosecuting trials and advising the police at the point of charge, especially around Domestic Abuse.
Kate is a qualified swimming instructor and helps out at a local disability swimming club.
She has two sons and moved to Bottesford in March 2020 so her eldest son could secure his place at The Academy. The other one will join in September 2025. She is always keen to give something back to the school and runs the Friends of Belvoir PTA.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys swimming, playing sports with her children and walking the family dog, Freddie.
Mr Kerry Symmons
Kerry is originally from Lincoln, studied at De Montfort University until 1996 graduating with a BSc in Sport, Masters in Leisure Management and a PGCE in Physical Education. He has lived in Bottesford for 15 years with his wife and two daughters.
Kerry is a current Head of Department at his current school, and a Senior Subject Moderator for AQA. He has undertaken many international school trips and taken student-led expeditions around the world.
He enjoys staying physically active, holidaying with his family and walking his dog.
Ms Lorraine Ainscough
Lorraine is originally from Oakham in Rutland, and has lived in Bottesford for around 15 years. Both her daughters attended the academy.
Lorraine currently works as a Supply Chain Director for Mars UK, delivering transformation projects in: Asia, India, Latin America, Australia and the Middle East.
Her interests outside of work include running, recently completing a half-marathon and cycling, as well as spending as much time in the kitchen as possible baking and cooking!
Alongside her MSc in Neuroscience of Mental Health, Lorraine is actively pursuing a counselling qualification.
Mr Gordon Fensom
Gordon is originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, and moved to Bottesford in 2002. He lives in Normanton with his wife and daughter. He also has three grown-up children who live outside the area. His youngest daughter attends Priory Belvoir Academy starting in Year 8 in August 2021. He has five grandchildren.
Since 2006, Gordon has been self-employed. He designs, writes and delivers training courses for adult learners who are drawn from a wide spectrum of commercial, charitable and Public-Sector clients. Prior to this, he spent 29 years in the finance industry working worked on several projects across the world.
Outside of work, Gordon served for three years on the Parish Council. He edits and distributes the bi-monthly Village Voice magazine.
Mrs Elisabeth Taoudi
Liz is originally from France but has lived in the UK for the last 25 years. She lives in Waltham with her family. She has two children, one of whom recently finished at the Academy, and one who is still at the Academy.
Having been introduced by a friend to the idea of being a Governor, Liz became a Local Authority Governor at a primary school in Grantham before moving to the Academy. During her career Liz previously worked in two UK Universities and is enthusiastic about supporting a local school as a governor.
Liz is a practicing lawyer specialising in Commercial Law, Technology and Data and Data Privacy. She currently works for Booking.com and has worked with multiple businesses and institutions in both private and public sectors as an in-house lawyer, advising on legal, tech, commercial and operational challenges.
Outside of work, Liz is a keen traveller and a bit of a petrol head, sometimes combining both! She also enjoys being active outdoors, cycling, walking and spending time with her children and the family dog.
